Reviews
My rate: 4/5.
The place was lively and cool. Waiters were nice and friendly. We ordered burger and club sandwich chicken for lunch. The burger was fine: juicy and well marinated. However, club sandwich was disappointed. The bacon was super salty and it destroyed all flavours. Chicken was bland as boiled chicken. I didn't feel anything except from salty bacon. It's quite busy so waiting time was a bit long.
Had the lunch platter, along with bitterballen and a homemade Ice Tea. Lunchplatter had a hot soup, a kroket and tuna salad on bread. I got curry soup. The soup was rather thick, but the flavour was nice. The kroket was perfectly crunchy, and the tunasalad was packed with flavour.
I've never had bitterballen before, turns out they're miniature krokets, and they were far from a disappointment. Nice, crunchy and filling.
The homemade Ice Tea was perfectly sweetened without being overly sweet. It was a mojito Ice Tea.
As a last thing, it's a cozy place.
Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and service.
We made a spontaneous visit on Saturday evening 12-02-22 at 6.30pm
They where very busy but able to offer us a table for 2 if we waited a short while.
We ordered a few drinks at the bar and within 15 minutes our table was ready.
The restaurant had an extremely warm and relaxed atmosphere, seating was spaced out very well.
I found the menu quite limited as a pescatarian with only 2 fish options. I do understand this restaurant is known for its beef dishes so I was not surprised to find alot of meat options.
The food was delicious.
For a started we shared the "wonton met gerookte zalm" this was wonton topped with smoked salmon and served with a wasabi soy sauce. There was plenty on the plate and it was enough for 3 of us to share.
For the mains we both ordered the "Tonijnbiefstuk" This was a delicious tuna steak that was cooked perfectly (medium) and served with there signature gravy and soy sauce.
We ordered a portion of sweet potato fried and sauté mushrooms to accompany the mains.
The food was faultless and we where both very satisfied and full when we were finished.
I believe the one slight downside was the price of the meals. For this price I would expect at least 1 side dish to be offered with the main and not just an unaccompanied tuna steak.
All in all 4/5 and a very nice dining experience!
This is the first negative review I have written about a dining experience but it was after the realisation that a member of the staff questioned my Dutch friends that I was drunk when I complained about what was on the plate.
The limp salad that I ate was loaded with salty, flaccid bacon and dry chicken.
My partner had a poke bowl with a salad lacking in fresh ingredients and no dressing.
The burger my son had showed a lack of care in preparation as the slice of tomato retained the green stem.
I was lucky not to have ordered the speciality of this establishment which is a steak swimming in gravy accompanied by...a stack of sliced white cotton wool bread but no vegetables.
This is not a cheap place either with the mains over 20 euros.
If it were not for the fact that we were part of a large group I would have left after the first bite.
Degueulasse et cher.
Overpriced food and drinks at an ok quality. The cocktail was good, the steak (beefstuk) was cooked well but the portion was way too small and was served with nothing other than a pool of oil. That is just disgusting and for 24€ it's insanity that I didn't just leave. You need to buy fries seprately, they were good at least. The cheese cake was oke but seems store bought.
I will not return.
We spend a nice afternoon on the terrace where we had a couple of drinks and eventually dinner. We started with the appetizer platter for two (borrelplank) which we were allowed to customize a bit to our personal preference and it tasted great. As mains we ordered steak, schnitzel and the chicken satay. All the meats tasted fine but nothing special. The sauce with the steak was pretty salty. Portions were of a good size and prices are good. We did get served by at least 5 different people while we were there for about 4 hours.
This place was recommended by our hostel. It's ridiculously overpriced and really boring food.
Service is quite bad also. …
Very rude staff ,they refuse to serve drinks on bar even if was a decent hour (19:00) . They are not able to communicate in a good way even if they have to refuse,Its a no go for me anymore.
